Why this?

Why paint lemons and not oranges? Why spend months painting eight old buildings? Apart from commissioned artwork, subjects that have made it to the top of my portfolio had done so with no apparent reason. I can only speak for myself when I say that when I decide to paint something, it is because I would like to see that something on my wall, sometime in the futur. I would be greatly honored, of course, if that something ends up on someone else's wall. I love lemons because they are yellow and sensual. I love old buildings because they offer me the opportunity to peek behind their paned windows. I love trees because they don't mind if I twist their branches and mature their leaves. I love cats because, well, because I love cats. And above all, I choose to paint an image when it moves me. Hoping that when the painting is finished, others will be moved too.
